May 27, 2011 - Boulder County Business Report- A venerable downtown landmark is getting an unexpected makeover from some of Boulder’s fastest-growing startups.
On May 18, over 300 business, community and academic leaders attended the 2011 Boulder Economic Summit: Boulder’s Innovation Economy presented by the Boulder Economic Council at the University of Colorado Boulder.
Boulder has been getting a lot of attention as a center for innovation and entrepreneurship. The city has been recently recognized as a “magnet for high-tech start-ups” by the New York Times, “one of the top places in the country to create an Internet start-up” by BusinessWeek, and a “hotbed for innovation” by MSNBC. The event explored what it is about Boulder that attracts entrepreneurs, how we can remain competitive, and the economic implications if we don’t.
